Banergy Acoustic solutions
INTRODUCTION TO SONARS
Sonar (Sound Navigation and Ranging) enables underwater perception by using acoustic energy to detect, locate, and interpret objects and environments beneath the surface. Unlike optical and radio-based sensing methods, which experience significant attenuation underwater, sound waves travel efficiently through water over long distances, making sonar the preferred technology for underwater exploration, navigation, and situational awareness. The animation illustrates the complete sonar operating cycle, from acoustic signal transmission and underwater propagation to echo reflection, reception, and signal processing. As sound waves encounter underwater objects or the seafloor, reflected echoes return to the receiver and are analysed to extract meaningful information such as distance, position, target characteristics, and environmental conditions. This process enables real-time detection, mapping, tracking, and informed decision-making across marine and underwater operations.

SONAR TECHNOLOGY
Sound Navigation Imaging & Ranging
Sonar is the cornerstone of underwater awareness. Banergy’s advanced sonar portfolio fuses next-generation acoustic intelligence with standalone, vessel-based, ROV, and USV integrated platforms, delivering unparalleled detection, situational awareness, and operational capability beneath the surface. Engineered for precision, reliability, and performance, our systems enable a new era of marine surveillance, exploration, and underwater security.
Our portfolio includes advanced passive sonar, active sonar, and sophisticated underwater object detection and tracking solutions, built to meet the demands of defence, marine research, industrial operations, and autonomous maritime missions. From deep-water exploration to mission-critical underwater operations, we supply high-performance sonar systems designed to transform how the underwater domain is sensed, understood, and secured.

SINGLE BEAM ECHOSOUNDER
Single Beam Echosounders (SBES) are used for precise underwater depth measurement by transmitting a focused acoustic pulse directly beneath the vessel and measuring the return time of the echo. These systems are widely used for bathymetric surveys, hydrographic mapping, dredging operations, inland waterways, coastal monitoring, and seabed profiling. Single beam technology provides reliable, efficient, and accurate depth data for marine survey and navigation applications.

DOPPLER VELOCITY LOG (DVL)
Doppler Velocity Logs (DVL) are advanced acoustic navigation systems used to measure the speed and movement of underwater platforms relative to the seabed or water column. By using the Doppler effect, DVLs provide precise velocity and position data, enabling accurate navigation, station keeping, and motion tracking. Commonly integrated with AUVs, ROVs, USVs, submarines, and marine survey platforms, DVL technology enhances underwater positioning, operational control, and mission reliability in complex marine environments.
