The Tunnel Robotic Assessment Tool (RAT) is a rapid-deployment robotic system designed to assess hazardous confined spaces such as borewells, tunnels, shafts, and culverts before rescue operations begin. Equipped with HD video, powerful lighting, environmental sensors, and real-time gas monitoring, RAT provides responders with critical situational awareness, including victim location, atmospheric conditions, and potential hazards. Its high-strength tether supports payloads up to 150 kg, while a modular interface enables the integration of rescue tools such as oxygen delivery systems, communication devices, and intervention equipment, helping teams make faster, safer, and more informed rescue decisions.
